Here is a 2001: A Space Odyssey and Interstellar mash-up / comparison, by Jorge Luengo Ruiz, scored to Johanne Strauss’ The Blue Danube, famously used by Kubrick to soundtrack the delicate docking procedure of spacecraft in his film. But hang on! Also below are two interesting and apropos uses of Hans Zimmer’s Interstellar score overlayed with a really tense and emotional sequence from 2001, when Dave Bowman has to enter the Discovery airlock without a space helmet,then deactivate the homicidal HAL computer (the scene is split into two parts here).
